1 cup powdered sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

24 whole almonds
Red food coloring
Black food coloring

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Sift in the flour and salt, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Divide the dough into two equal parts and wrap each in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2: Shape the Cookies

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Take one of the dough portions out of the refrigerator and roll it into a log about 1 inch in diameter.
Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a finger shape, making sure to add wrinkles and indentations to make them look like real fingers.
Place the fingers on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each one.
Using a toothpick, poke holes in the end of each finger to create a nail bed.
Press an almond into the hole to create a fingernail.
Repeat with the second dough portion, creating 24 fingers in total.

Step 3: Add the Finishing Touches

Bake the fingers for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix together red food coloring with a few drops of water to create a blood-like consistency.
Using a small brush, paint the ends of the fingers with the red food coloring to create a bloody effect.
Finally, using black food coloring, add small lines and wrinkles to the fingers to make them look even more realistic.
Let the cookies cool completely before serving.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
